This is my first “poster-style” painting. It comes out of an interest in Japanese prints, mixed with the kind of poster sensibility you see in artists like Schiele and Casas.
For me, it’s really about trying to understand how to translate that language into my own work, studying and learning how to simplify, and build this kind of image.
