BCN meets NYC

Ron Silver’s Private Studio
New York
April 23rd, 2025
From 19:00 to 22:00hs

Renowned artists Ron Silver and Juliana Plexxo will unveil their joint exhibition, “NYC Meets Barcelona”, at Silver’s private studio in Manhattan, New York. This exclusive event offers collectors and gallerists a unique opportunity to acquire works that merge New York’s vibrant energy with Barcelona’s rich cultural heritage.

Ron Silver, founder of the iconic Bubby’s restaurant in Tribeca, presents a series of paintings that capture the dynamic essence of New York City, reflecting its intensity and urban beauty. His work blends influences from American folk art, the Renaissance, and Japanese aesthetics, showcasing his deep admiration for the female form and cultural traditions.

Juliana Plexxo, a Colombian artist based in Barcelona and recognized by Forbes as one of the 50 Most Creative People in 2022, will exhibit her collection “Real Gold.” This series of etchings and paintings challenges traditional notions of wealth, drawing inspiration from the indigenous worldviews of Latin America and emphasizing humanity’s spiritual connection to nature. In 2022, she was also nominated as Young Talent of the Year by Berkeley University in California, becoming the first Colombian artist to receive this recognition.

The artists first met at Studio 46 in Barcelona, the legendary printmaking atelier of Joan Barbarà, where Miró, Tàpies, Salvador Dalí, and Richard Hamilton once created their works. Juliana invited Ron on a private tour of the studio, where their shared admiration for these masters and the historic artistic bridge between New York and Barcelona sparked an instant creative connection.

Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to experience a groundbreaking artistic dialogue between New York and Barcelona*.
