Hitomi and I had already worked together on more charged material. This drawing came from a different kind of moment: she simply stopped, lay down, and let the session end on its own terms. Nothing is staged here. The charcoal moves across the body and the bedding without much distinction between them, which feels right. Rest is its own subject.
